Great news

I have recently learned that I got accepted into a co-op table selling locally handmade goods at a place in Fredericton called the Barracks.  This will be my first time selling my own handmade goods, I am really excited!  I plan to make a schedule of bag making which I will follow strictly.  I'll be working 80 hours a week for the next month, but it will be worth it.

In other news I just learned that UNB is going to offer me some funding as a grad student of sociology.  I had previously decided to decline the acceptance but now I'm reconsidering.  I'll be getting the letter soon.

also this week I won a raffle at work.  I'm pretty positive that its the first time I have ever won a raffle prize.  I was really excited and relieved.  The higher ups at work pulled me off the phones in the middle of my day with no explanation.  I was sure that they were going to tell me that I was doing everything wrong and that I was fired but instead they presented me with a $25 gift certificate!  They even took my picture, I had actually bothered to straighten my hair that day too, this week was full of good fortune.

Vegan Meatloaf, its true

So last night Mike and I decided to have a nice filling dinner complete with mashed potatoes, peas, and vegan meatloaf! (evil laughing)
It was okay.  The recipe has yet to be perfected.  For one thing as you can see it did not stay in perfect meatloaf form.  When mike went to take it out of the pan it just fell apart.  Also it tasted ok but its not the sort of thing that I would feed to the omnivores to impress them and show them how great veganism is.  The omnivores would definitely scoff at this.  The great part about it though was that it took a lot of imagination to take a normal meatloaf recipe and then substitute all the nonkosher ingredients for plant based ones.  I was very impressed with Mike for doing this.  He is very adventurous with food.
The side of peas were my idea, never underestimate the importance of having greens in your meal people!  also I came up with making the potatoes but Mike did all the work.
Also the kitchen is still a mess and its the next day already.  I wish that we had little elves that would come along in the night and clean the house.  The only negative part of cooking is doing the dishes afterwards!
